Team Envy owner and CEO Mike “Hastro” Rufail has made an incredible offer to a recently-released professional Call of Duty team.

Excelerate Gaming released its entire five-man roster yesterday. Not only does this move mean that Christopher “ProFeeZy” Astudillo, Austin “Believe” Smith, Mike “MRuiz” Ruiz, Michael “Beehzy” Said, and Robert “RobbieB” Brugnoli are no longer in the CWL Pro League, but they also were in jeopardy of missing the next major LAN event, CWL Fort Worth.

Hate to see what happened to the Excelerate COD team. Tag the players and let them know I'm willing to help them get to CWL Ft. Worth on my dime. I'll do whatever I can to help them get there and compete.

But Hastro took to Twitter today to help these players. He offered to personally pay for them to travel to CWL Fort Worth next week.

“Haven’t checked the rules here, but pretty sure I can make a donation to those guys and help out without creating any conflict,” Hastro said. “Been in CoD esports since the beginning and never seen anything like this.”

Team Pass secured

Less than an hour after making his initial offer to the former Excelerate players, Hastro also tweeted “team pass secured,” which likely means that the deed is done and these players will be able to compete at CWL Fort Worth.

This is an amazing gesture by someone who’s been involved with Call of Duty esports since its infancy. Call of Duty fans will get to see Hastro’s main squad, Team Envy, and the former Excelerate players that he’s funding at CWL Fort Worth, which starts on March 15.
